Friends Meet for Mini-Reunion - Sunset Beach, NC
Before they all turned 80 or
lost their vitality, eight college friends decided that
they would gather for four unique days in April at
Sunset Beach, NC. It was an extraordinary time of deep
sharing of ideas, personal experiences, and ways they’ve
grown from the values they learned at Ohio Wesleyan
University in l951-55.

Family Reunion - Atlanta, GA
In
July, the Hodges family ventured to Atlanta, GA, and
the beautiful home of niece Sheryl Nelson to celebrate a
four day family reunion weekend celebration.

River Cruise
In
August, 2012, the Hodges, joined by long-time friends,
Lou and Alan Williams, enjoyed their first European
River Cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam.

Buena Vista,
CO
Nothing can
beat the Colorado Rockies when adorned in autumn aspen
gold. Frank Smucker ,Boulder High Theatre colleague,
invited us to visit his family’s cabin. St. Elmo is a
restored ghost town, a reminder of the gold-mining
heyday in l850’s on.

Hiking
in a Granite Garden in Prescott, AZ with long-time
friends, Jo and Charley Krauskopf.
Then onward to San Clemente, CA to catch up with Jean's
brother Don, wife Carol, and niece Linda.

J&J Enjoy
Train Ride To The Copper Canyon
January may not have been the ideal month to travel to
the Copper Canyon in Chihuahua, Mexico, because just as
they arrived on the narrow guage railroad to the edge of
this broad canyon, clouds moved in and snow greeted them
the next morning. Even so, the views were spectacular
and the train was a fun ride after their annual two
weeks sunning in Mazatlan.

Memorial Day
Bolder Boulder Race
2010 marked the first year the Jean Hodges walked the
annual 10K race that pulls in some 65.000 runners and
walkers from all over the world. Challenged by her
fitness class buddies, Jean needed some help to get
suited up for the race. Blisters and all, she was proud
to cross the finish line at the C.U. stadium.

More Hodges
Join In Pride Parade
2010 marked the first time that any Hodges other than
Jean and Jack marched in the annual Denver Pride
Parade. Rae and Katie thought it was a blast to see
all the colorful floats and walk proudly with the PFLAG
contingent to loud cheers from the crowd. Auntie Beth
rode on a (not gay) dog rescue float.

Visit To Western Slope
The Colorado National Monument overlooking Grand
Junction, CO was a first for Jean and Jack who traveled
there to help revive a faltering PFLAG chapter and
enjoyed the beauty of the rock formations. A reunion
with former BHS student, Rebecca Mullen ('84) and
family, was another pleasure. With a backdrop of
mountain grandeur, the blue columbines were worth the
trip to the picturesque ski resort of Crested Butte for
their annual Wildflower Festival.

Hodges family had a very active travel year covering
multiple continents and much of the United States. Enjoy
highlights of our various excursions through Japan,
South America, Prague, Paris, Mazatlan, Santa Fe, and
Cape Cod.
